Thanks for trying to help, Tulku.

I clicked on "This PC" more than an hour ago and nothing's appeared yet and Windows Explorer is still searching the contents of my PC.

Besides, no matter what folder or file I'm on, the "Options" icon is not clickable, also no "Properties" window opens up even the one of a single photo.

I think my main problem comes from the fact that I can't restart my PC and finalize my awaiting updates.

Maybe I'm gonna buy a cheap used PC (I saw some with Windows 7 version) and stock and work on my photos with it.

In fact, I have mercifully lost none of my numerous photos but after an unsuccessful update (thanks to Windows 10) and to my PC which stops and starts but doesn't want to restart to validate any task, Windows Explorer keeps searching my folders and files without displaying the thumbnails of the images.

As you can see, it's not so bad but it's not easy to choose among thousands of pictures by seeing them one by one.

Still possible but it takes longer time.
